Astra improves economics

The UK’s second best-selling car has made a push to improve economy and emissions. Vauxhall had added start-stop technology to its 2.0litre diesel model, improved the claimed mpg to 62.8 and cut C02 emissions to 119g/km. The move means the model drops its company car tax band to 13 per cent and private buyers will pay just £30-a-year in road tax. Vauxhall has also installed its Cleantech Combustion Technology, reducing engine noise and giving cleaner engine combustion.
